Resistance is an opposing force that acts like a dam, holding something in place so it has nowhere to go.

There are two main types of resistance. The first one is:

Mental resistance

Mental resistance shows up with these types of thoughts and statements:

“I want a relationship, but I could get hurt if I fall in love again.”

“I want to lose weight, but I don’t have time to exercise.”

“I want more money, but I can’t leave my secure job.”

Each time we think these thoughts, we renew our resistance and give a meaning to our thought patterns that fuel them. You many have heard the old saying, “What you resist, persists.”

Mental resistance release statement

Inhale and exhale deeply as you repeat this:

I am choosing to release all resistance and surrender this mental thought pattern. I ask the divine to work its magic through me and to assist me with uplifting my thoughts.”

After you have done this, a mantra will come to you. I invite you to write it down and keep your full focus on it while visualizing the outcome you desire.

The second type of resistance:

Is really your guidance trying to get your attention.

I am creating an exciting new program that invigorates me every time I think about it. There is nothing like it on the market yet. When my business coach gives me assignments to complete, I feel resistance and find myself thinking I don’t want to do this. It’s too much work and I need free time to play and to be spontaneous. Recently, after giving myself permission to simply be and breathe, I tuned into my wise inner voice and I heard the words, “Stretch the time line. Launch early next year and take the summer off. Travel, dance, play, be a carefree teenager and trust in the Divine timing.” Once I listened to the message and allowed it, my whole body released tension, and the thought forms that were making me feel squeezed fell away. My spacious joy returned!

If you are feeling stuck in any area of your life, determine if it’s mental resistance or if it’s the quiet voice  of your inner wisdom trying to gain your attention.

Always know that you are divinely lead and guided with each step of your amazing life.
